VIRTUAL REALITY

Virtual Reality Therapy in the Neurological and Orthopedic Departments at Michels Clinics in Saxony

Studies confirm the high potential of Virtual Reality (VR) in therapeutic contexts. Therefore, the Michels Sachsenklinik Bad Lausick and Michels NRZ Leipzig have expanded their occupational therapy services for orthopedic and neurological patients by introducing the CUREO® therapy system from Cureosity.

The system was developed through a multi-year collaboration involving scientists, physicians, therapists, patients, and software specialists in a practice-oriented process.

The modular training units provide playful, varied, and highly motivating support for cognitive and sensorimotor rehabilitation. During an extensive testing phase, we thoroughly evaluated the system and found it to have an extremely high acceptance rate and enthusiasm among our patients, regardless of age. We are delighted to now offer it as a permanent addition to conventional occupational therapy.

Virtual Reality in Our Psychosomatic Clinic in Bad Lausick

Using a virtual reality headset, we can conduct practical therapeutic exercises in a simple yet realistic way. Modern technology thus enhances proven psychotherapeutic methods. Virtual reality can be specifically applied in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, or obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Following a detailed test phase, we are pleased to integrate the VR therapy software VirtuallyThere as an alternative intervention option into individual treatment plans as needed.
